Anyone over the age of 6 months can receive a COVID-19 vaccine. A parent/legal guardian must be present to sign the vaccine consent form.
The pediatric Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for ages 6 months to 5 years is now available at UF Health pediatric clinics. This is a two-dose series given four weeks (28 days) apart.
The pediatric Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children 5-11 years old is available at UF Health pharmacies and many UF Health Physicians practices. This is a two-dose series given three weeks apart.
Boosters
- The CDC recommends that children ages 5 through 11 years should receive a booster shot 5 months after their initial Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination series.
- The CDC also recommends that those 12 and older who are immunocompromised should receive a second booster dose at least 4 months after their first.
